Hundreds of people attend the inauguration of Brussels' greenest neighbourhood

25.09.2019

Just one year after its launch, 1,000 households have already signed up for the Brusol programme. A thousand households: that means approximately 14,000 solar panels, more than 4 million kWh of free green electricity a year, a reduction of almost 3,200 tons of CO2 emissions per year and a total decrease of almost one million euros in energy costs for Brusol customers.

More information about the inauguration of the Greenest Neighbourhood (including timelapse video) can be found here, on our Brusol project website.

End of free green electricity in Brussels for B2B...

All good things must come to an end. Last week, Brugel published its final recommendation for a regulation that will apply from 2020: a 42% decrease in support for green electricity certificates (CV/GSC) for industrial PV projects. For new installations generating more than 50 kWp, it will no longer be possible to offer free green electricity. It will still be possible for smaller businesses and households though.

Only in the Brussels-Capital Region, the figures are as follows:

  • 15 MWp installed (more than the entire market combined in 2018).
  • This year we are building both the largest project in the Region (3.4 MWp, equalling 3,000,000 kWh per year) and the largest number of projects in the Region (almost 1,000 B2B and B2C projects).
  • This year, and for the next 25 years, we will produce more than 13.5 million kWh of green electricity in the Brussels-Capital Region.
  • CO2 emissions in the Region will fall by more than 10,000 tonnes per year.

We have made contractual commitments to all of our customers. We guarantee on-time delivery of all projects, with no small print or surprises.

And so 2019 is another record year for EnergyVision—but more on that later.

Best regards from the whole team!
