EnergyVision keeps energy prices stable in april: “We don’t let customers down”
GHENT – While the energy market is under pressure at the start of April and many suppliers are increasing their rates, EnergyVision is making a clear choice for stability. Electricity prices remain unchanged, and gas prices will increase only slightly – up to a maximum of €0.054 per kWh (a 13.2% increase). “EnergyVision explicitly chooses not to follow the automatic link between gas and electricity prices. Customer peace of mind comes first,” the company states.
Recent tensions in the Middle East have once again set energy markets in motion. Since April 1, many energy suppliers have raised their tariffs for both gas and electricity, often with increases ranging from 40% to as much as 60% in one go. This evolution is creating uncertainty among customers, who are faced with rising costs and little predictability.
Households, however, do not have to accept this situation or assume there is no alternative. EnergyVision deliberately takes a different approach. While the market is shifting toward higher prices, EnergyVision keeps its fixed electricity rates unchanged and limits increases in f ixed gas rates to a minimum. This positions the company clearly as an exception in a volatile and highly unpredictable market.
According to CEO Maarten Michielssens, this is no coincidence but a deliberate choice: “EnergyVision treats its customers like its best friends. And you don’t string your best friends along. In an uncertain market, we choose clarity and stability. We can do this because we have our own renewable electricity production – and that is not affected by market prices or presidents. At the same time, we are not taking profits on gas prices.”
Because EnergyVision is less dependent on external energy markets, the company can take a more considered approach to pricing and absorb shocks without immediately passing them on to customers. It therefore explicitly chooses not to follow the automatic link between gas and electricity prices.
Everything for the customer
This customer-focused approach has, in recent days, gone beyond pricing policy alone. Due to sudden price increases from other suppliers, EnergyVision has seen a sharp rise in inquiries from customers looking to review their energy contracts or switch to greater certainty. To assist everyone as effectively as possible, the customer service team remained exceptionally open until midnight on March 30 and 31, with employees from various departments deployed and rapidly trained to handle the surge in demand.
Within the company, the mindset is clear: everything is secondary to the customer’s peace of mind. This flexibility and accessibility are designed to ensure that no one is left in uncertainty at a time when the market is particularly volatile.
