EnergyVision confirms reports on NMBS charging station concession
Ghent, 7 July 2025 - EnergyVision confirms the media reports published this evening stating that NMBS has evaluated the company’s bid for the concession to supply, install, maintain, operate, and finance public AC charging stations at NMBS parking facilities as the best offer. EnergyVision received the formal notification from NMBS late this afternoon, confirming the decision to award the concession (operation) for the next ten years. EnergyVision will now observe the standstill period applicable to this decision.
The concession covers a total of 103,666 parking spaces across the NMBS network, of which an estimated 49,726 to 73,496 are suitable for the installation of charging points. In line with the investment plan, EnergyVision will install at least 5,000 charging points, with the possibility of expansion depending on future demand.
Through this award, EnergyVision expects to achieve its previously announced objective of increasing the number of charging points in Belgium from 2,500 to 10,000 in the medium term.
