The capacity tariff is part of your grid charges that is based on your highest consumption peaks. The grid operator not only looks at how much electricity you use, but also at how much power you draw from the grid at any given moment.

For example, if you use a charging point, a heat pump and an oven at the same time, this creates a higher consumption peak. The higher these peaks are, the greater the strain on the electricity grid and the higher your capacity charge may be.

The capacity charge currently accounts for around a quarter of the distribution network costs on your electricity bill. By spreading out high consumption over time, you can limit your consumption peaks and avoid unnecessary increases in your network costs.

No, this benefit is exclusive to EnergyVision charging card holders or the EnergyVision app. Don’t have a card yet? You can easily request one via our website.

Yes, you must actively confirm via the WhatsApp message that you want to participate. Without confirmation, you will pay the standard rate.

On average, we send about 15 WhatsApp messages per year with an offer to charge for free or at a discount.

We operate on a “first come, first served” basis. It’s currently not possible to reserve a charging station. No worries: new opportunities will come regularly.

At the moment, Energy Earners rates are available at our EnergyVision charging points in Belgium. 

EnergyVision home charging stations are not included in this promotion.

A dynamic tariff is an energy contract where the electricity price fluctuates every 15 minutes in line with prices on the energy market. This means there can be up to 96 different price periods per day. To maximise your savings, you need to monitor the electricity prices yourself and shift your consumption as much as possible to times when electricity is cheaper.

With a fixed tariff, your electricity price remains the same for the duration of your contract. With a variable tariff, the price changes monthly. A dynamic tariff tracks the energy market most closely, allowing you to make the most of fluctuations in the electricity price.

A dynamic tariff is particularly beneficial if you use a lot of electricity and can time your usage to coincide with electricity prices. You can do this, for example, by setting your electric car, heat pump or other smart appliances to run automatically when electricity prices are low.

You can also benefit from a dynamic tariff if you spend a lot of time at home and can actively monitor market prices.

By the start of your contract (1 July at the earliest), we will provide a page where you can easily check the electricity prices per quarter-hour. Would you like to track them today? You can do so, for example, via the website of Elia, the operator of the Belgian high-voltage grid. There you will find the day-ahead electricity prices per quarter-hour.

As well as the electricity price per quarter of an hour, it is also important to take the capacity tariff into account. This part of your network costs is determined by your highest consumption peaks and, in Flanders, does not currently take the situation on the energy market into account. Even when there is plenty of green electricity available or there are surpluses, high consumption peaks can still increase your capacity tariff.

You should therefore time your consumption to coincide with periods when electricity is cheap, but make sure your peak consumption does not rise too high. A higher capacity tariff can, in fact, cancel out some of the savings made through cheap electricity.

Yes, absolutely!
Your charging station remains the property of EnergyVision and is set to "private" by default. That means it’s not visible on the public charging network.

Good news: even when the charger is private, your partner can usually charge with a card from another provider. As long as that provider allows access to our network, it’ll work just fine.

Check the provider’s app to see if EnergyVision stations are visible.
If they are, great!
If not, it might be that the card doesn’t support private chargers. In that case, we can make your station public upon request.

In short: in most cases, charging will work without a problem. It mostly depends on the charging card your partner uses. And if you need us — we’re here to help!

Yes. When there is abundant solar and wind generation and low demand, market prices can become negative. During such periods, the energy component of your consumption price can be very low or even negative.

However, other costs such as grid charges, levies, and VAT remain payable. These costs are independent of your supplier and are therefore the same regardless of the supplier.

That depends on your consumption pattern. Customers who can shift their consumption to cheaper off-peak hours can save money. Those who mainly consume during expensive peak periods may end up paying more than they would with a standard contract. With a fixed (or partially fixed) price, you do have greater certainty. 

That depends on generation and market prices. On sunny afternoons, market prices are often lower, which means the injection compensation may be limited or even negative. A home battery or smart control system can help you get more value from your own generation.

The market price is just one component of the final bill. With a dynamic contract, you will also still pay:

• net tariffs
• taxes and contributions
• capacity charge
• subscription fees or a fixed fee charged by the supplier
• VAT

No, EnergyVision uses monthly billing for dynamic contracts. You no longer have to pay any advance payments; each month, you are billed for your actual consumption at the correct price. This means you will no longer receive an annual settlement either. So there are no surprises later on.

Each supplier determines its own:

• fixed fee
• margin on the market price
• injection formula

As a result, final costs can differ significantly, even when the underlying market price is identical.

Our plug-in battery is currently only available in Flanders and Wallonia. Do you live in Brussels? The plug-in battery is not available there yet.

You can switch energy suppliers at no cost, any month. Your contract for the free solar panels will remain valid at €0.20/kWh.

To qualify for solar panels, the following conditions are important:

• You are the owner of the home.
• You are a private individual (we are working on a solution for businesses).
• You have a digital meter or are willing to have one installed.
• Your roof contains no asbestos.

Yes, the charging station always displays the standard price. You first pay the full amount. Afterwards, we process the Energy Earners sessions and apply your discount on your invoice.

Planning to move? No problem! You can ask the new owner to take over the agreement.

• If the new owner agrees, just let us know and we’ll handle everything.
• If the new owner doesn’t agree, your contract ends on the day of the sale and you take over the solar panels. Has your contract been active for more than 5 years? Then you have a choice: take over the panels or have them removed for a fee of €750.
• Selling part of your property? Make sure to inform the co-owner and request written consent.

• After more than 5 years:
  You can choose to take over the solar panels for a fee, or have them removed by EnergyVision for a cost of €750.
• After less than 5 years:
  You are required to take over the solar panels. In that case, you’ll pay a fee based on the number of panels and the remaining contract duration.

To qualify for a home charging station, the following conditions apply:

• You are the owner of the property
• You are a private individual (not a company)
• You have a digital meter or are willing to have one installed

Moving? No worries. Our charging stations are removable and can move with you to your new place. We do charge a €250 administrative fee for the relocation, but hey, better a portable charger than one stuck in place, right? Just let us know, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Don’t want to take it with you? And the new owner wants to take over the contract?

That works too! If both parties agree, the contract can be transferred to the new owner.
If not, you’ll need to take over the installation yourself.

Yes, you can select the charging mode that best suits your needs via the My-Enovates User App.

Your charging station offers three smart charging modes, each impacting your energy costs and capacity tariff differently:

• Grid Zero: This is the most cost-effective option. Your EV charges only with solar energy, avoiding grid power altogether, which also keeps your capacity tariff low.
   
• Custom Grid: The most popular choice among EV drivers. It combines solar energy with a limited amount of grid electricity, offering a perfect balance between charging speed and cost. It helps you charge efficiently while avoiding financial surprises.
   
• Boost (not recommended): This mode charges your vehicle as fast as possible. However, it causes high peak consumption, which can significantly increase your capacity tariff.

During an Energy Earners moment you charge at half price or sometimes even completely free, provided if you charge at an EnergyVision charging station using your EnergyVision charging card. The discount only applies to the electricity you use during the specified hours. If you charge before or after, you pay the standard rate for that portion.

No, we only offer free solar panels without a home battery. In addition, we cannot install solar panels if you already have a battery.

Yes, there is a small monthly fee of €10 (VAT included). This covers:

• The installation
• The charging station
• Customer support
• Access to the online platform
• Invoicing
• A charging card

Additional costs depend on your contract:

• Cheap Energy + Solar Panels + Charging Station:
  You pay an additional fixed fee of €10, included in your energy subscription.

• Cheap Energy + Charging Station:
  You pay an additional fixed fee of €30, included in your energy subscription.

   

That’s possible, but your home charging station agreement will remain in effect.
In that case, a monthly service fee of €30 will apply.

Yes. You can cancel at any time with two months’ written notice. However, an early termination fee will apply for your home charging station. The amount depends on the remaining contract duration. You can find the buyout table in your contract.

We take care of the request and scheduling. You don’t have to do a thing.

We exclusively use single-phase connections, where electricity is delivered through one phase, as opposed to three-phase connections.

Why do we only work with single-phase connections?

• Standard voltage: A single-phase connection typically delivers 230 volts. In a three-phase setup, three cables each carrying 230 volts enter your home.
• Lower capacity tariffs: With a single-phase setup, you don’t need to worry about unexpectedly high capacity charges.
  The grid operator calculates the capacity tariff based not on your total usage, but on your highest peak consumption. The higher the simultaneous power use, the higher the cost.
  Single-phase setups typically produce lower peaks than three-phase ones.
• Optimized solar charging: Single-phase systems generally allow for greater use of self-generated solar power, making it easier and cheaper to charge your car with your own energy.

First, we sign the contract. Then, we prepare a technical file and schedule the installation.
We take your home’s layout and all technical requirements into account to ensure a smooth and safe setup.

Yes, you can! Thanks to the Grid Zero setting on your charging station.

When you activate this charging mode via the My-Enovates User App, your electric car will charge exclusively with solar energy. That means no power from the grid, making it the most cost-effective option. Plus, it helps keep your capacity tariff low, since you're not creating peak demand on the public grid.

Did you receive a message and want to enjoy the energy earner benefit, but are wondering how to start a charging session to be eligible for the reduced rate? It's very simple: just start a session with your EnergyVision charging card using your EnergyVision app! Only then will the session be valid for the energy earner rate. 

If you charged at the time indicated in the message you received, you will see the discount applied to your next invoice.

A compact home battery that you can simply plug into the mains to store the solar energy you’ve generated with your solar panels. This means you can make the most of your solar energy, even when the sun isn’t shining.

 A plug-in battery stores the surplus energy from your solar panels so that you can use it later when the sun isn’t shining.

During the day, when your panels produce more than you use, that energy is stored in the battery. In the evening or on cloudy days, you simply use your own stored electricity.

The big advantage? You make the most of your own solar energy and avoid feeding it into the grid only to buy it back later. This means you don’t pay any distribution costs or grid tariffs on the electricity you’ve generated yourself.

The cost of a plug-in battery depends on the system, but with us you don’t need to make any upfront investment.

You simply pay a monthly subscription of €12, which covers all costs. This means you can start benefiting from your stored solar energy straight away.

The plug-in battery has a capacity of 5.12 kWh.

It is the Marstek Venus E, a plug-and-play plug-in battery from Marstek that works via a standard mains socket. You can find more details about the battery here.

We will add the subscription fee to your EnergyVision energy bill.

• We will collect the plug-in battery again. We charge a collection fee of €250 for this.
• You can take over the plug-in battery. In that case, you’ll pay a transfer fee that depends on the remaining term of your contract. This amount is calculated based on the total contract value of 10 years × 12 months × €12, minus the amount you’ve already paid.

No, there are no additional charges for delivery.

In the event of a fault or damage, you can count on EnergyVision. We’ll take care of the repairs and ensure the problem is resolved as quickly as possible.

The subscription fee starts from the day the plug-in battery is delivered or collected.
