EnergyVision @ COP22 in Marrakech

By | News | No Comments

EnergyVision was  in Marrakech (Morocco) for COP22, the Climate Change Conference of the United Nations. We had several meetings, among which one with our partner Illac Diaz of Liter of Light. Yet we also had a meeting scheduled with the COP22 President, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Salaheddine Mezouar. The COP22 President took a selfie with Maarten and  Hassan, but more important, he tried to push all countries towards more sustainable energy. And that is what it’s all about: action, now!

COP22 & EnergyVision: sports festival in Fez

By | News | No Comments

This is what happens when Hassan Mourhit (former Belgian champion 1.500m indoor, former world record holder 2 miles indoor for juniors) and Mohammed Mourhit (two-time world champion cross country, former European record holder in the 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000m) are part of your team: you find yourself sponsoring and co-organising a prestigious street run following COP 22, the climate conference of the United Nations held in Marrakech, Morocco this year.

Leading up to the COP 22, EnergyVision together with the University of Fez, organised a large sports festival, including a football tournament and streetrun. It was an overwhelming succes, free entry for athletes, the presence of different prominent people of both the university and the government in the stands, large crowds of spectators and students, en great feedback on Moroccan television and in the newspapers.

Athletics and Energyvision, they remain close. In Morocco, half of our team are former athletes. In China , half of our team went down to Beijing to watch the athletics world championships. Every year EnergyVision employees and customers inBelgium spend a great evening at the Memorial Van Damme. And this time we co-organised a street run in Fez: without a doubt the beginning of a new annual tradition.

Another great Year (Part Two)

September 30th 2016 – the end of our fiscal year. EnergyVision just wrapped up its second year and once again it was… fantastic! Our turnover has doubled from around 10 million to over 20 million EUR, realising a net profit of 3.8 million EUR (profit that will be entirely reinvested in the further growth of our company). Our team expanded, from 18 to 39 employees.

Between October 2014 and September 2016 we realised 182 projects for our clients: from Cortina to Picanol, a local Moroccan farm to a Chinese winemaker. Our projects literally went from A (Airbus, Beijing: AC ProFilm) to Z (Zonnehoeve, Eke: LED-relighting).

The coming year our focus will remain on our core markets (especially our home market, Morocco and China). Short term, we will be recruiting 8 new profiles, mainly in our offices in Morocco and China. We are expanding our portfolio with an additional financing formula for energy projects and will be introducing  1 or 2 new technologies.

These results have made us the fastest growing young company in Belgium. We would like to thank all our clients, suppliers, partners and employees – this would not have been possible without you!

EnergyVision Party at the Belgian Embassy in Beijing

“Germany has car manufacturers, France has airplane constructors, Belgium has companies like EnergyVision: SMEs, indispensable growth agents, companies who think with their customers, not the largest per se but those who do indeed look far beyond national borders and want to develop their business in a sustainable way”.  This is how we were introduced by H.E. Michel Malherbe, Ambassador of Belgium in Beijing (China) last Friday. Ambassador Malherbe received EnergyVision and around thirty of our clients at his residence in the Chinese capital. During this event we had the opportunity to present some of Belgium’s finest energy technologies. Among those invited a number of managers of hotel chains, hospitals, but also representatives from the Chinese industrial sector, politics and investors.

Nobody left empty-handed: our guests were not only introduced to the best energy technologies our country has to offer, but also to some of the best beverages. Cheers!

Coldest week in China – but not for Airbus in Beijing

China is experiencing unuasual chills this winter. The country is hit by the strongest cold waves in almost 30 years. Minus 19°C, it read this week in Beijing. Not for the employees of Airbus though. They don’t feel cold at all.

The installation of AC ProFilm has been fully commissioned last week, which means their energy savings are up and running: AC ProFilm saves 25 to 30% on their heating and cooling costs.

Bright sunshine but freezing cold is what they get outside. Inside, the Airbus-people experience a cup of tea enjoying the bright winter sun. ProFilm keeps the cold away.

Next up: Airbus Tianjin!

EnergyVision in the news [SUDPRESSE, BELGIUM]

The one thing we avoid at EnergyVision, is going for a run together. Reason is we’d always lose, since our Moroccan entity is led by two former world class athletes. Hassan Mourhit ran a world record when he was a junior (two miles indoor), his brother Mohammed Mourhit is even bigger a name, being a former world champion in cross country and ran European records on 3.000, 5.000 and 10.000m.

The newspapers of Sudpresse recently paid Mohammed a visit at our Belgian offices. Mohammed talked about his sports career and about his work at EnergyVision. To find out what he said, have a look at the image on the left.

China office hit by massive explosion

EnergyVision experienced its worst day today. The Binhai region of Tianjin, which is where we have our Chinese office, got hit by a massive explosion shortly before midnight. The appartments of our team were located at the blast zone really, with our office less than 2 km away.

The windows in our office are broken, the apartments of several of our employees destroyed. Luckily, we only experience some minor injuries in our team, all members survived.

On the left hand side of the slider, you can see what it looked like before the blast.

Slide to the left of the image to reveal what it looks like now!

Needless to say, our office will be closed for the rest of the week.

EnergyVision in the news [RTBF, BELGIUM]

Thank you, King Philippe of Belgium ! The King took EnergyVision aboard the government’s aircraft for the official Belgian State Visit to China. Five days, five cities (Wuhan, Beijing, Suzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen). EnergyVision was by far the ‘youngest’ Belgian company of the delegation, which had a fine selection of top CEOs and entrepreneurs.

Our first State Visit. To our preferred country. Led by the King. RTBf, Belgian television, broadcasted the gathering between Belgian and Chinese entrepreneurs. Almost 40 journalists joined the delegation in total.
